Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rand Addresses Security Concerns and Legal Actions Regarding Opposition Protests

Quetta:Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rand, in a press conference, raised concerns over security risks as the Balochistan National Party (BNP) long march reached Quetta. He mentioned that Dr. Sabeha delivered an anti-state speech during the protest, and legal action will be taken against such speeches that go against the nation.
Rand further pointed out that BNP leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal also made a speech that was against the state, and the government will respond to such remarks. He emphasized that despite these challenges, the government is demonstrating patience.
The spokesperson confirmed that two rounds of negotiations have already taken place with BNP, but they were unsuccessful. He added that the government had also met with other political parties.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal had three major demands, one of which was the release of Maaz Rang. However, the government did not agree to allowing the BNP to hold the protest at Shaawani Stadium. Rand stated that protests cannot be held in the Red Zone and that Section 144 is currently imposed in the province. Any violation of this order will result in legal consequences.
Regarding the issue of Afghan refugees, Rand mentioned that the provincial government is bound by the federal policy but is awaiting a detailed decision from the Honorable High Court. He also commented on the Baloch Youth Conference (BYC), stating that everyone is aware of its significance.
