Quetta:In a proactive move aimed at safeguarding workers’ rights, the Balochistan government has issued directives to ensure timely payment of wages to laborers employed in factories, shops, and individual work zones across the province. Under the new guidelines issued by Chief Minister Mir Sardar Faraz Bugti and Adviser for Labour and Manpower Sardar Ghulam Rasool Imrani, all workers, including permanent, contractual, and daily wage earners, are mandated to receive their wages through bank accounts.
The notification from the Labour and Manpower Department specifies that any company found paying workers below the government-prescribed minimum wage will face strict legal action. This initiative is aimed at preventing exploitation of workers and ensuring compliance with government-regulated wage standards.
Adviser Sardar Ghulam Rasool Imrani emphasized that this step is crucial to halt the exploitation of workers and affirmed that stringent enforcement of the issued directives will be ensured. The move underscores the government’s commitment to improving labor conditions and ensuring fair treatment of workers in Balochistan.
Companies and employers are urged to adhere strictly to the prescribed governmental formula for wage payments to avoid punitive measures. The implementation of these measures is expected to significantly curb wage exploitation practices and promote equitable employment practices across the province.
This development marks a significant stride towards protecting workers’ rights in Balochistan and underscores the government’s resolve to uphold labor welfare standards in the region.
