Balochistan Government Begins Preparations for Next Fiscal Year’s Budget

Quetta:The Balochistan government has initiated preparations for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget. Starting from February 3, meetings with provincial departments will be held to discuss their budget proposals. The anticipated budget for the next financial year is expected to reach around one trillion rupees.

Secretary of Finance, Balochistan, Imran Zarkon, shared details with a private TV channel, stating that the finance department has already begun working on the budget preparations. In the first phase, budget proposals will be collected from all departments, and meetings for this purpose are scheduled to begin on February 3. These proposals will form the basis for drafting the final budget.

Imran Zarkon also highlighted that Balochistan is regularly receiving funds under the National Finance Commission (NFC) award. However, the province is facing a shortfall of around 100 billion rupees. This includes 60 billion rupees from PPL in the form of gas royalty and 39 billion rupees for the solarization of agricultural tube wells, which the federal government has yet to allocate.
