Ayaz Latif Palijo Calls Cholistaan Canal More Dangerous Than an Atom Bomb for Sindh

The leader of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek, Ayaz Latif Palijo, has stated that the Cholistaan Canal is more dangerous for Sindh than an atom bomb, while accusing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of jointly ruining the province.

Protests against the canal project, which involves extracting water from the Indus River, were held by various organizations, including the Qaumi Awami Tehreek.

Speaking at a rally in Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Palijo condemned the project, saying that the Cholistaan Canal posed a greater threat to Sindh than an atom bomb. He also claimed that PPP and PML-N were working together to destroy the province.

Palijo further stated that PPP stands with those attacking the Indus River and that any plan to extract canals from the river would be unacceptable.

In addition, the Awami Tehreek and Sindhiani Tehreek organized a protest rally in K.N. Shah, while the Mehr Bar Association continued its protests for the 9th consecutive day against the canal project. Workers of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) also staged a sit-in on the National Highway near Moro.
