Attock: JUI Leader Qari Nizamuddin Shot Dead by Unknown Gunmen

In a tragic incident, Qari Nizamuddin, the Tehsil Naib Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), was shot dead by unidentified assailants. The incident occurred when he was returning home on his motorcycle after reciting the Quran following Taraweeh prayers at Jamia Ulum-ul-Shari’ah Jamia Masjid Loharan.

Armed men opened fire on him near Khattak Colony, which is adjacent to Peoples Colony, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. Upon receiving the news, a heavy police contingent led by SHO Attock City, Malik Mujahid Abbas, and Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the location.

The body of Qari Nizamuddin was transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Attock for post-mortem. His relatives, local JUI leaders, and a large number of citizens gathered at the hospital to mourn his loss. The central leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam strongly condemned this targeted killing, calling it a serious violation of peace and order.

A large number of religious scholars, including JUI leader Asfandyar Bukhari, also reached the hospital. Qari Nizamuddin had been leading Taraweeh prayers at Jamia Ulum-ul-Shari’ah Jamia Masjid Loharan, located in the bustling commercial area of Attock’s Sol Bazaar. Additionally, he ran a religious school in Farooq Azam Colony, where hundreds of students were receiving religious education.

The tragic incident has caused widespread fear and anger throughout the district. Citizens and religious leaders have strongly condemned this cowardly act, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and strict action against them.
