Annual Cost of One Helicopter and Two Planes of Balochistan Government Revealed: The Figures Will Shock You
Quetta: The annual expenditure on the Balochistan government’s aviation fleet, which includes one helicopter and two planes, is staggering, according to official documents.
According to a report by NNI, the Balochistan government’s aviation wing, under the Department of Home and Tribal Affairs, incurs annual costs amounting to 57 crore rupees. The wing, which manages the fleet, employs 88 staff members, although 30 positions remain vacant.
The fleet consists of a VIP jet, a Cessna aircraft, and an MI-17 helicopter, all of which are used for government operations, including high-level flights. These aircraft are maintained by the aviation wing, which was specifically established for this purpose.
The report highlights the significant financial burden of maintaining this fleet, which includes both operational and maintenance costs. The details of the expenditures raise concerns over the efficiency and necessity of such a costly arrangement in the province.
