Al Baik to Open 200 Outlets in Pakistan Using Locally Sourced Chicken

Saudi Arabia’s renowned fast-food chain, Al Baik, has announced its decision to use locally sourced chicken for production in Pakistan, with plans to open 200 branches in the country initially.

According to Urdu News, Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal, confirmed the move during a press briefing at the conclusion of the “Made in Pakistan” exhibition in Jeddah. He stated that Al Baik has made a definitive decision to enter the Pakistani market and will first establish its food chain in the country.

Jam Kamal clarified that the process will not be instantaneous, noting, “It’s not that Al Baik will just open a franchise and start selling products tomorrow. This is a lengthy process. They look at everything as part of a supply chain, including chicken farming, feed, and franchises, while maintaining a high standard of hygiene.”

The Minister further mentioned that Al Baik intends to open 200 branches in Pakistan. “I told them that there is no need to market here, as every Pakistani already knows about this fast-food chain,” he added.

According to the Minister, Al Baik representatives shared their commitment to not only benefit from the venture themselves but to also empower Pakistan’s poultry sector. “They will support the poultry industry by creating job opportunities and bring the bread industry into the mix. They aim to help 8 to 10 sectors where Pakistanis will be employed.”

During his visit to Al Baik’s operations in Jeddah, Jam Kamal also met with Pakistani employees working at the chain. He expressed his joy at the prospect of Al Baik opening franchises in Pakistan, wishing them success in their endeavors.

“The people of Pakistan love food, and once Al Baik begins its operations in Pakistan, opening 200 branches will be just the beginning,” he concluded.

It’s noteworthy that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Pakistani company ‘Go’ and the Saudi company to explore business opportunities for Al Baik’s entry into the Pakistani market.
