Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani Meets Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri and Mir Ali Hassan Zehri

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani held an important meeting with Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri, Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights, and senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan leader, spokesman for President Asif Ali Zardari and Senior Provincial Vice President Mir Ali Hassan Zehri.
The meeting discussed matters of national and provincial importance, parliamentary affairs, the overall situation in Balochistan and various issues related to public welfare.
The participants also exchanged views on Balochistan’s development, resolution of public problems and ways to make the ongoing development process in the province more effective. Particular attention was given to development projects in Hub, improvement of infrastructure, provision of basic facilities to citizens and expansion of development activities in the area.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri and Mir Ali Hassan Zehri apprised the Senate chairman of the issues faced by the people of Balochistan, particularly those related to basic facilities, development projects and public needs.
The participants stressed the need for coordinated efforts at both the federal and provincial levels to ensure sustainable development in Balochistan and accelerate efforts to resolve public issues through elected representatives.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening democratic institutions, promoting parliamentary traditions and making political and democratic dialogue more effective.
Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani said Balochistan was an important and proud part of Pakistan, adding that the province’s development and the prosperity of its people were directly linked to the country’s overall progress.
He stressed that all relevant institutions and elected representatives should play their role in advancing development and resolving the problems faced by the people of Balochistan.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri and Mir Ali Hassan Zehri expressed their commitment to playing a proactive role in promoting public welfare, development projects and the provision of basic facilities across Balochistan, particularly in Hub.
Senator Zehri said the true purpose of public representation was to bring the voice of the people to Parliament and ensure practical measures for resolving their problems. She pledged that the issues concerning the development, prosperity and better future of the people of Balochistan would continue to be raised at every possible forum.
The participants reaffirmed that a peaceful, stable, developed and prosperous Balochistan was essential for a strong Pakistan, while effective parliamentary dialogue, democratic institutions and public service could help steer the country toward greater development and prosperity.
