Over 100 Killed in Gold Mine Collapse in Central African Republic

More than 100 people have been killed after a gold mine collapsed in the Central African Republic, according to foreign media reports.

The incident occurred in the village of Zemboye, near the border with Cameroon, where a gold mine suddenly collapsed, trapping workers and other people underground.

Local authorities said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collapse and identify those responsible for operating the mine.

Rescue teams are continuing operations to locate and save missing people, while officials have warned that the death toll could rise as search efforts continue.

Cameroon, the neighboring country, has offered medical assistance to those injured in the disaster.
