Khawaja Saad Rafique Calls Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Türkiye Defense Pact a Historic Milestone

Lahore: Former federal minister and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has described the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye as a historic development and a positive milestone for the Muslim world.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Rafique said the agreement represents an important step toward strengthening unity, collective security, and cooperation among Muslim nations.

He noted that, under the agreement, an attack on any one of the three member states would be regarded as an attack on all, describing the provision as a clear demonstration of the participating countries’ commitment to mutual defense and solidarity.

Rafique said the pact would serve as a cornerstone for promoting stability, security, and brotherhood across the Muslim world, adding that it has been welcomed by those who value greater unity among Muslim countries.

He also praised the leadership of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye for what he described as their vision and statesmanship in reaching the agreement. Concluding his statement, Rafique expressed hope that the pact would become a source of peace, unity, stability, and prosperity for the Muslim world.
