Petrol and Diesel Prices Likely to Fall Further Today, Say OGRA Sources

Islamabad: Petrol and diesel prices are expected to decrease further from August 5, according to sources familiar with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA)’s pricing calculations.

OGRA sources said the price of petrol is likely to be reduced by Rs3.39 per litre, while high-speed diesel may see a Rs4.07 per litre cut.

If approved, the new petrol price is expected to be Rs328.56 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel is estimated to fall to Rs385.86 per litre.

The proposed reductions are based on the latest pricing calculations and remain subject to the federal government’s final approval before taking effect.

The expected price cuts come a day after the government announced a Rs4.08 per litre reduction in petrol prices and a Rs2.45 per litre decrease in the price of high-speed diesel.
