ANP and PKMAP Say Balochistan Facing Severe Political and Administrative Crisis Due to Failed Governance
QUETTA: The Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) have expressed grave concern over the political, administrative, and security situation in Balochistan, alleging that ineffective governance and undemocratic policies have pushed the province into a deep crisis.
The remarks came during a meeting between ANP’s provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai and PKMAP Central Secretary General Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, along with the party’s Central Secretary Abdul Haq Abdal. The leaders held detailed discussions on the post-Ziarat sit-in situation, the killing of Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar, the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan, and the serious challenges facing the people of the province.
The leaders expressed concern that what they described as a “Form-47-based” non-representative and ineffective government, along with the policies of its alleged undemocratic backers, has plunged Balochistan into a severe political, administrative, and security crisis. They claimed that the people are facing insecurity, uncertainty, and persistent hardships as a result.
Both parties agreed to further strengthen and activate the All Parties platform of democratic and patriotic political forces, promote mutual coordination, and jointly pursue a democratic and political struggle to safeguard the constitutional and democratic rights of the people. They also vowed to resist what they termed imposed insecurity and undemocratic measures through peaceful and constitutional means.
During the meeting, it was agreed that an All Parties platform meeting would be convened in the near future to formulate a joint strategy in light of the prevailing political and security situation and to advance the public movement in a more organized, effective, and coordinated manner.
ANP Central Secretary Abdul Rashid Khan Nasir and Quetta district president Sanaullah Kakar were also present at the meeting.
