10 Militants Killed in Intelligence-Based Operations Under Operation Azm in Balochistan: ISPR
Quetta: Security forces have killed 10 suspected militants in separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan under the ongoing Operation Azm, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement, the military’s media wing said security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in the Anjira area of Khuzdar district after receiving credible intelligence about the movement of suspected militants. The forces intercepted the group before it could reach its hideout, leading to a gun battle in which eight suspected militants, identified by the ISPR as members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), were killed.
The ISPR said security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, hand grenades, explosives, automatic firearms, communication equipment, and satellite phones from the militants’ hideouts.
In a separate operation in the Hajika area of Surab district, security forces killed two more suspected militants, whom the ISPR also identified as members of the BLA. Weapons and other military equipment were reportedly seized during the operation.
According to the ISPR, the killed militants were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist attacks, including assaults on security forces and civilians. The recovered weapons and explosives were reportedly intended for use in future militant activities.
The military said search and clearance operations are continuing in the affected areas to locate any remaining militants, facilitators, and hideouts. Security has also been strengthened at sensitive locations, with increased ground and aerial surveillance.
Reaffirming its commitment, the ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eliminate terrorism, safeguard national security, and ensure lasting peace in Balochistan and across the country. It added that operations against militants and their support networks will continue until terrorist infrastructure is dismantled.
