Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind Condemns Killing of Session Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar, Calls It an Attack on Justice System

BOLAN: Senior politician and former federal and provincial minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has strongly condemned the killing of Session Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar, describing it as a tragic incident and an attack on Pakistan’s justice system.

In a statement, Rind said that targeting judges who deliver verdicts in accordance with the Constitution, the law, and the principles of justice is not merely an attack on an individual but on the rule of law and the country’s judicial system.

He alleged that the targeted killing appeared to be a deliberate attempt to intimidate judges and discourage them from performing their constitutional and legal responsibilities without fear.

Questioning the government’s security arrangements, Rind said that if extensive protection can be provided to government officials, ministers, and other high-profile personalities, then ensuring the safety of members of the judiciary should also be a priority. He added that if judges themselves are not secure, it raises serious concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens.

The former minister demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the killing, including the perpetrators, facilitators, and anyone involved behind the scenes. He called for them to be brought before the nation and given exemplary punishment to deter future attacks on members of the judiciary.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Rind offered his condolences and prayed for the elevation of the martyred judge’s ranks and for strength and patience for his family during this difficult time.
