Iran’s IRGC Claims Over 200 U.S. Troops Killed in Retaliatory Strikes
TEHRAN:Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that more than 200 U.S. military personnel were killed and many others injured during Iranian retaliatory strikes amid ongoing tensions with the United States.
IRGC spokesperson General Hossein Mohabbi rejected the casualty figures released by Washington, describing them as inaccurate and inconsistent with the facts.
In an interview with an Iranian news agency, Mohabbi said Iranian forces targeted eight U.S. military installations across the region during the operations. He also claimed that 20 protective shelters at one of the bases were destroyed.
The IRGC spokesperson urged the United States to allow journalists access to the affected military facilities so that the international community could independently assess the extent of the damage. He alleged that the U.S. government was withholding the full details of casualties and losses.
Mohabbi further claimed that Iranian attacks over the past two weeks destroyed 11 U.S. aircraft and helicopters, including one F-15 fighter jet, one P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, one C-17 transport aircraft, and eight aerial refueling aircraft.
He also alleged that Iranian forces shot down 17 surveillance and operational drones, including eight advanced unmanned aerial vehicles.
Separately, the IRGC warned Israel against rejoining the conflict, saying any renewed military involvement by Tel Aviv would have serious consequences. Iranian officials stated that their forces are closely monitoring Israel’s actions and have prepared contingency plans for any potential intervention.
