National Party Calls Killing of Mastung Judge Part of a Larger Conspiracy, Seeks Supreme Court Probe

QUETTA: The National Party has strongly condemned the killing of District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard, Muhammad Zaman Samalani, in Mastung, describing the incident as part of a larger conspiracy and calling for an independent judicial investigation.

In a statement, the party’s provincial spokesperson expressed condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari, who was injured in the attack.

The spokesperson said Balochistan was facing a severe law and order crisis, alleging that the province had descended into widespread anarchy where no one could be considered safe.

The statement claimed that the repeated attacks on passenger buses, vehicles carrying women and children, and now members of the judiciary in Mastung indicated what the party described as a broader conspiracy and the possible precursor to a large-scale operation.

The National Party said such incidents represent open acts of terrorism and stressed that it is the state’s responsibility to take effective and responsible measures to prevent further violence and restore public confidence.

The spokesperson noted that the judiciary has traditionally remained the last hope for oppressed and vulnerable citizens, adding that the killing of a judge was particularly alarming and had intensified fear and uncertainty among the public.

The party urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the killing of Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and constitute a judicial commission to investigate the incident.
