National Party Condemns Blocking of CNICs in Chagai, Calls It a Humanitarian Crisis
NOKKUNDI: The National Party has expressed serious concern over the alleged blocking of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of residents in Chagai district, describing the situation as a humanitarian crisis and urging authorities to resolve the issue immediately.
In a district-level press release, the party said that for several months, residents of Chagai—particularly in Nokkundi, Taftan, Saindak, and Dalbandin—have allegedly had their CNICs blocked without justification, creating widespread anxiety among local communities.
According to the statement, when the CNICs of entire families are blocked, their bank accounts and mobile phone SIM cards are also suspended, causing severe financial and psychological hardship. The party noted that many of the affected individuals are government employees and business owners.
The National Party argued that if there is a legal issue involving a specific individual, only that person’s CNIC should be suspended, while authorities should provide a clear and accessible legal process to resolve the matter. It criticized the alleged requirement for entire families to travel to Quetta for verification meetings on security grounds, calling it a form of mental and physical hardship for residents.
The party appealed to its parliamentary leadership, including President Dr. Malik Baloch, Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi, MNA Phulain Baloch, and other elected representatives, to raise the issue in legislative forums and engage with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to address the problem.
Describing the matter as a collective humanitarian issue, the National Party alleged that local NADRA authorities were creating unnecessary difficulties for the people of Chagai for administrative convenience.
The statement concluded by saying that the National Party would continue to support affected residents through legal and public forums and would not rule out launching protests if the issue remains unresolved.
