HDP Says Balochistan Highways Are Unsafe, Criticizes Government Over Security Situation

Quetta: The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation across Balochistan, alleging that the provincial government lacks an effective strategy to maintain peace and ensure public safety.

In a statement, the party criticized what it described as the government’s failure to protect the lives and property of citizens, saying national highways and several districts in the province have become increasingly insecure.

According to the HDP, the worsening security situation has forced members of the business community and the transport sector to scale back or refuse commercial travel to various districts within the province. The party also claimed that the Quetta–Karachi Highway and other key routes connecting Balochistan with the rest of the country have become unsafe for travelers and transporters.

The statement further alleged that the current provincial administration and members of the assembly elected through what the party referred to as “Form 47” lack both the public mandate and a practical strategy to restore peace and stability in the province.

HDP asserted that, without an effective security plan, the present government would be unable to bring the situation under control.

The party urged the provincial administration, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to restore law and order, secure national highways, and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.

The statement reflects the Hazara Democratic Party’s position and criticism of the provincial government. Government officials had not publicly responded to the party’s remarks at the time of the statement.
