Arsalan Butt Breaks Silence on Harassment Allegations, Says Claims Can Damage Careers

Islamabad: Pakistani actor Arsalan Butt has spoken publicly about the harassment allegations previously made against him by actress Mamya Shah Jaffar, saying such accusations have the potential to seriously damage a person’s career.
Speaking on Fariha Farrukh’s podcast, Butt said he has taken the matter very seriously and decided to pursue it through legal channels.
“Such allegations can certainly affect someone’s career,” he said. “I have worked with renowned professionals not only in Pakistan but also internationally, and no one has ever questioned my character. My colleagues and friends have always appreciated my conduct and professionalism.”
The actor added that while he had many ways to respond to the situation, he had deliberately chosen to rely on the legal process.
“I have many ways to silence that person, but I am choosing only the legal route. I will deal with this matter through patience and the law,” he said.
The controversy began several months ago when actress Mamya Shah Jaffar publicly accused Arsalan Butt of harassment and inappropriate behavior. She later withdrew her allegations.
Arsalan Butt’s latest remarks are his response to the earlier accusations. The circumstances surrounding the allegations and their withdrawal have not been independently addressed in his latest comments.
