Oil Tanker Supply Will Not Be Suspended, Says APOOA Chairman Mir Shams Shahwani
ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the All Pakistan Oil Owners Association (APOOA), Mir Shams Shahwani, has assured the public that the supply of oil tankers across the country will continue uninterrupted despite ongoing challenges, emphasizing that the association stands firmly with the people of Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, Shahwani said that under no circumstances would the transportation of petroleum products be suspended. He stressed that the association recognizes the difficulties being faced by citizens and remains committed to ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of fuel nationwide.
“We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pakistan during these difficult times, and the supply of petroleum products will continue without disruption,” he said.
Calling for patience and restraint, Shahwani urged law enforcement agencies to take immediate action against what he described as a corrupt mafia, warning that the government should not succumb to any form of pressure or blackmail.
Commenting on the issue of transportation fares and operational costs, he revealed that negotiations are currently underway in Islamabad with the Prime Minister’s advisers and relevant government ministries to find an appropriate and timely resolution to the matter.
Referring to recent increases in petroleum prices, Shahwani said the rise was linked to trends in the international oil market, which have also affected domestic fuel prices in Pakistan. He added that the government is making efforts to provide relief to the public despite prevailing economic challenges.
Expressing optimism, the APOOA chairman said he hopes ongoing negotiations and government measures will help improve the situation and resolve outstanding issues in the near future while safeguarding the country’s fuel supply chain.
