Former Acting SDPO Turbat Inspector Sher Jan Dismissed from Police Service Over Negligence and Misconduct
QUETTA: Former Acting Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Turbat, Inspector Sher Jan, has been dismissed from the police service after being found guilty of negligence, maladministration, and violations of departmental rules, according to a spokesperson for the Balochistan Police.
The spokesperson stated that disciplinary proceedings were initiated against Inspector Sher Jan following the recommendations of an investigative committee. A departmental inquiry was conducted, and he was provided with an opportunity for a personal hearing. However, he failed to effectively refute the allegations against him or present any acceptable and substantial justification in his defense.
The Balochistan Police emphasized that negligence in the discharge of official duties, maladministration, and breaches of discipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
According to the spokesperson, the department maintains an effective accountability mechanism through which the performance of its personnel is regularly reviewed. Officers demonstrating exemplary performance are recognized through rewards, commendation certificates, and promotions, while those found violating departmental rules are subjected to strict disciplinary action.
The spokesperson further clarified that legal and departmental proceedings against officials who exceed their authority or violate established rules and regulations will continue in accordance with the law and prescribed procedures.
The dismissal of Inspector Sher Jan reflects the Balochistan Police’s commitment to institutional accountability and the enforcement of professional standards within the force.
