Rising Inflation Continues to Squeeze Households Across Balochistan

Quetta: Rising inflation continues to put increasing financial pressure on households in Quetta and across Balochistan, as prices of essential commodities and food items remain on the rise.

Consumers say the cost of daily necessities, including vegetables, fruits, flour, sugar, cooking oil, ghee, pulses, and other food products, has increased significantly, making it difficult for middle- and low-income families to manage their household budgets.

Residents complain that while salaries and incomes have largely remained unchanged, the continuous increase in prices has reduced their purchasing power and added to their financial burden.

Citizens have urged the government to take effective action against hoarding and profiteering and to implement practical measures to stabilize the prices of essential commodities.

Economic experts say that controlling inflation will require stronger market oversight, continuous price monitoring, and the implementation of policies aimed at providing relief to consumers. They add that price stability would not only ease the burden on households but also help support broader economic activity.

Many residents are now looking to the government to introduce measures that can reduce the impact of inflation and improve the affordability of basic necessities.
