Pentagon Says Nearly 100 U.S. Troops Injured During Two-Week Conflict With Iran

WASHINGTON:The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has confirmed that nearly 100 American service members were injured during the two-week conflict with Iran.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said that around 100 U.S. troops have been wounded since July 7, sustaining injuries of varying severity. He added that **96% of the injured personnel have already returned to active duty**.

The announcement comes as the Pentagon on Friday identified two U.S. soldiers who were killed in an Iranian attack. Earlier, the Defense Department had reported that **14 American troops had been killed and 427 wounded since February 28**.

Meanwhile, concerns remain that the death toll from Iranian retaliatory strikes on U.S. military bases in northern Iraq and Jordan could rise. According to U.S. media reports, the military is examining unidentified human remains recovered from the site of the Iranian attack in Jordan, raising the possibility of additional fatalities.

The United States has already acknowledged the deaths of three American soldiers in Iranian attacks, while one service member remains missing. The U.S. military also confirmed that an American soldier was killed during an operation in northern Iraq on July 18.

Earlier, an Iranian missile strike on Jordan reportedly killed two U.S. soldiers, left one missing, and injured four others.
