JUI-F Leader Shahida Akhtar Ali Hits Back at Ayesha Gulalai’s Allegations Against Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Islamabad: Following serious allegations levelled by former Member of the National Assembly Ayesha Gulalai Wazir against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the party’s leadership has strongly responded to her remarks.

JUI-F central leader and former MNA Shahida Akhtar Ali issued a sharp rebuttal, strongly criticizing Gulalai’s statements and questioning her conduct and credibility.

Condemning the allegations in strong terms, Shahida Akhtar Ali said that Ayesha Gulalai should first clarify her own identity and behaviour before making accusations against others. She alleged that Gulalai’s remarks reflected what she described as a “filthy mindset” and accused her of making baseless and offensive statements.

Defending Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Shahida Akhtar Ali stated that the allegations were fabricated and far removed from reality. She said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has always been known for his religious devotion and his role in national politics, adding that his public life has been marked by piety, integrity, and political wisdom.

She further maintained that such allegations could not tarnish his reputation and that he has consistently worked in the interests of the country and its people.

The strong reaction came after Ayesha Gulalai Wazir, in a video statement, levelled several serious allegations against the JUI-F chief. She claimed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was patronising the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and called on the government to arrest him immediately.

JUI-F has categorically rejected the allegations, describing them as malicious and politically motivated.
