Kangana Ranaut Says Women Should Prioritize Becoming Good Mothers

Mumbai: Indian actress and BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has shared her views on the role of women in society, saying that women should give priority to becoming good mothers and that caring for others is a natural part of their personality.
Supporting recent remarks by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Kangana wrote on social media platform X that nurturing and caring for others is not merely a responsibility for women but also a source of happiness and pride.
Sharing a video of the governor’s speech, Kangana recalled that as a child she enjoyed building houses for her dolls, sewing clothes for them, and pretending to feed them, while her brother preferred playing cricket and football. She said these experiences reflected the natural instinct of women to love, nurture, and care for others.
According to Kangana, a woman’s first responsibility is to become a good mother, emphasizing that qualities such as affection, compassion, and caregiving are innate in women.
Her remarks sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users supported her views and agreed with her perspective on family values, others criticized the comments, arguing that they reinforce traditional gender roles and limit women’s choices.
The debate follows a recent speech by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, who said that regardless of whether women become teachers or civil servants, they should also learn household skills, particularly cooking, and focus on becoming good mothers.
