Pakistani Actress Sehar Hashmi Responds to ‘Female Emraan Hashmi’ Comparisons

Lahore: Pakistani actress Sehar Hashmi has spoken publicly for the first time about the criticism she has faced for performing hugging scenes in television dramas, addressing comparisons that labeled her the “Pakistani Emraan Hashmi.”

Sehar Hashmi, who began her acting career with the drama Zulm, was previously known for creating fashion and lifestyle content before making her television debut. She later gained recognition through dramas including Man Mast Malang, Zanjeerein, and Shedai.

In a recent interview, the actress said the scenes in question were part of the script and were filmed according to the director’s creative vision. She emphasized that she only performed what her role required.

Hashmi argued that every actor works according to the demands of their character and that it is unfair to single her out for criticism over such scenes.

At the same time, she acknowledged viewers’ concerns, saying that if audiences do not appreciate such scenes, she will be more careful about similar performances in future projects.
