Book Seller Scam Gang Targets Motorists in Karachi
Karachi:A gang posing as book sellers is reportedly targeting motorists in Karachi by using distraction tactics to steal mobile phones and other valuables.
According to reports, one such incident occurred near the **Allahwala Signal on Shahrah-e-Quaideen**, where a suspect pretending to be a book seller allegedly struck a stationary vehicle and claimed it had been hit. As the driver lowered the window to question him, an accomplice began banging on the rear of the car to divert the driver’s attention.
When the driver turned around to see what was happening behind the vehicle, the first suspect allegedly snatched the victim’s mobile phone and fled the scene.
According to **Ferozabad Police**, several similar incidents have been reported. Police said some suspects also use wires or other methods to dirty a vehicle’s windshield or create a disturbance, prompting drivers to become distracted before carrying out thefts. Authorities have advised motorists to remain vigilant and avoid lowering their windows or leaving their vehicles in suspicious situations.
