Pakistan Calls for Diplomacy and Dialogue to Ease Regional Tensions at UN Security Council

United Nations:** Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, **Asim Iftikhar Ahmad**, has urged all parties to pursue diplomacy and sustained dialogue, warning that escalating tensions in the region are in no one’s interest.
Addressing the **UN Security Council**, the Pakistani envoy said that diplomacy and continuous negotiations remain the only viable path to achieving a lasting resolution of disputed issues.
He stressed that the cycle of violence and instability must come to an end, adding that Pakistan is continuing its constructive diplomatic efforts to promote de-escalation, support a ceasefire, and strengthen regional stability.
Asim Iftikhar also called on all sides to avoid statements and actions that could create misunderstandings during the ongoing sensitive negotiations. He emphasized that all efforts should remain focused on ensuring the effective implementation of the **Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding**.
