Iran Rejects Trump’s Claim of Requesting Continued Talks with the United States

Iran has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Tehran requested the continuation of negotiations with Washington.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied President Trump’s statement, clarifying that Iran had not asked the United States to resume talks. However, the ministry said Tehran had accepted a visit by Qatari mediators as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
According to **Reuters**, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson warned that if the United States violates any provision of the memorandum of understanding, Iran will respond with reciprocal and proportional measures.
Iranian state television quoted the spokesperson as saying that any breach of commitments by the United States would be met with a corresponding response from Tehran.
The statement came a day after President Trump claimed that Iran had requested the continuation of negotiations and that Washington had agreed to the proposal. Trump also said the United States had made it clear that the ceasefire had come to an end.
