TikTok Stunt Ends in Disaster as Five Youths from Sheikhupura Rescued After Vehicle Swept Away in Kunhar River

Mansehra: Five tourists from Sheikhupura narrowly escaped death after driving their pickup truck into the Kunhar River near Naran to film a TikTok video. Their vehicle was swept away by the river’s strong current, while a trained rafting team successfully rescued all five men.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the Dham Dhamma tourist spot, where the young men drove their Vigo pickup into the river to record social media content. While they were filming, the water level and current suddenly intensified, causing the vehicle to lose stability before being carried away by the fast-flowing river.

The alarming scene sparked panic among nearby tourists and local residents. A trained rafting team stationed in the area responded immediately, navigating the powerful currents with a rescue boat and safely bringing all five individuals to shore.

The SP Balakot said the incident took place in the evening, and darkness prevented authorities from recovering the submerged vehicle. A rescue operation to retrieve the pickup truck is expected to resume during daylight.

Following the incident, the district administration and police urged tourists visiting Naran to avoid driving vehicles into or too close to the Kunhar River. Officials warned that water levels and currents in mountain rivers can rise suddenly due to changing weather conditions, posing a serious threat to life and property.
