I Am Being Conspired Against for Speaking the Truth, Attempts Being Made to Keep Me Out of Assembly: Mir Asad Baloch

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Balochistan National Party (Awami) leader and Member of the Provincial Assembly Mir Asad Baloch, while addressing the budget session in the Balochistan Assembly, said that claiming everything is fine in the province is an injustice to reality.

He stated that successive governments have repeatedly approached the IMF, questioning why the country is unable to move away from it. He said that even the federal finance minister has admitted that the budget cannot be prepared without the IMF, which reflects the country’s financial dependency.

Mir Asad Baloch added that people of the region have always struggled for their rights through constitutional and legal means, and it is the state’s responsibility to provide basic rights to citizens. He said that in world history, conflicts have been resolved through dialogue and negotiations.

He further claimed that the constitution is effectively suspended in the country and alleged that law and order conditions in his area have deteriorated to the extent that two to three bodies are being found daily.

The BNP-Awami leader said that speaking the truth is not tolerated, and most members in the assembly are uncomfortable with his statements. He alleged that even the Speaker has been repeatedly signaling him to shorten his speech due to pressure.

He further claimed that he is being targeted politically and that there are plans to keep him out of the assembly in future elections. Despite this, he vowed to continue speaking the truth and standing with his constituents, saying he will always remain with his people and voters.
