Petroleum Product Prices Likely to Be Reduced in Pakistan

Islamabad: Petroleum product prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Sources said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to release a brief video statement before his departure for Zurich, Switzerland. He will also chair a meeting to review petroleum product prices.

Officials indicated that a reduction in fuel prices is under consideration, raising expectations of relief for consumers across the country.

Amid reports of an impending price cut, the number of customers visiting petrol stations has noticeably declined compared to previous days. Many consumers are reportedly delaying major fuel purchases in anticipation of lower prices.

Petrol station staff said a large number of motorists are buying only enough petrol and diesel for the next two days, believing that the government will announce significant reductions in fuel prices on Friday.

The expected price adjustment comes as consumers hope for relief from rising living costs and transportation expenses. However, no official announcement regarding the extent of the reduction has yet been made.
