PTI Says KP Government to Approve Only Three-Month Budget Pending Meeting with Party Founder

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will approve a budget for only three months instead of presenting a full-year financial plan.

Speaking to the media on Adiala Road, Raja stated that he had discussed the matter with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and that the provincial government would proceed with a three-month budget paper for the time being.

He said that Article 125 of the Constitution allows the government to present and approve a budget for a limited period, adding that the provincial administration would utilize this constitutional provision.

According to Raja, the current plan is to approve a three-month budget, while the final annual budget will not be presented until a meeting takes place with the PTI founder.

The PTI leader further said that if no meeting with the party founder is held by June 30, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will move ahead with presenting and approving a three-month budget.

His remarks come amid ongoing political discussions regarding budgetary decisions and the party’s future strategy in the province.
