Flood Situation Worsens in Sindh: 50 Villages Affected in Dadu, Thousands Relocated

Dadu/Larkana/Naushahro Feroze:The flood situation in Sindh has intensified as 50 villages in Dadu district have been inundated, while a flood wave from Mehar tehsil struck the Sehwan protection embankment in Larkana.

According to local reports, three villages and connecting roads were submerged after the powerful flood currents hit the embankment. Water also entered Naiun Goth in the katcha area, submerging houses and a Basic Health Unit.

In Naushahro Feroze, a breach developed in the loop embankment, flooding nearby villages in Bakhri. However, Sindh’s Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro stated that the Indus River embankment near Bakhri is fully intact and no breach has occurred.

Meanwhile, Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon confirmed that 185,550 people have been relocated to safer areas across the province. He emphasized that the government’s priority is not only to protect flood-affected people but also to safeguard their property and livestock.
