Police Raid Protest Camp of Grand Alliance in Quetta, Several Leaders Arrested

Quetta (News Desk) Police conducted a raid on the protest camp of the Balochistan Grand Alliance in Quetta, detaining several leaders before the demonstration could formally begin and shifting them to the Civil Lines Police Station.

According to details, the Grand Alliance had planned a peaceful protest camp on Monday as per its scheduled programme. However, police action prevented the setup of the camp, leading to the arrest of multiple leaders at the site.

Following the incident, remaining leaders of the Grand Alliance held an emergency consultation to review the situation and later met senior officials of the district administration to discuss the protest plan and the demands of government employees.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Quetta and Additional Deputy Commissioner informed the delegation that no protest camps or public gatherings could be allowed due to the enforcement of Section 144 across the province.

The Grand Alliance representatives presented their stance, stating that the protest was entirely peaceful, constitutional, and a democratic right aimed at raising legitimate demands of government employees.

The alliance reaffirmed its commitment to continue its struggle for the rights of employees, while also emphasizing that it would pursue all efforts through peaceful and constitutional means, avoiding any form of violence or confrontation.
