Drug Suspect ‘Anmol alias Pinky’ Used Alleged Fake Salary Account for Multi-Million Rupee Transactions, Investigation Reveals

KARACHI: An investigation into a suspected narcotics network has revealed that alleged drug dealer Anmol, also known as Pinky, maintained a purported “salary account” in Lahore through which millions of rupees were reportedly transacted.

According to investigation records, the account was opened at a branch of a foreign bank in Lahore’s New Garden Town area. Investigators later found that the documents submitted to the bank for opening the account were allegedly forged and that the company listed as the account holder’s employer did not exist.

The findings were detailed in a report submitted on July 1, 2021, by Sub-Inspector Sobia Iram, the investigating officer in Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) case No. 63/19, registered in 2019.

The report stated that Anmol had a salary account at a multinational bank in Lahore, where she was shown as an employee of a private company. Despite being categorized as a salary account, the account reportedly handled transactions worth tens of millions of rupees.

According to bank records obtained during the investigation, transactions totaling approximately Rs639.88 million had passed through the account. At the time, the suspect had been declared a proclaimed absconder.

Investigators subsequently visited the address of the company listed in the account-opening documents—9/10 Chhata Plaza, First Floor, Chauburji, Lahore. However, they reportedly discovered that no company by that name existed at the location.

The investigation concluded that the documents provided to the bank were allegedly fake, raising questions about the account-opening process and the compliance checks carried out at the time.

The case remains part of a broader anti-narcotics investigation, and authorities continue to examine the financial transactions and individuals linked to the account.
