Fuel Crisis in Balochistan at Peak of Mismanagement, Petrol Being Sold at Rs800 Per Litre: Balochistan Bar Council

Quetta (Kudrat News) — Former Vice Chairman of Balochistan Bar Council and member of the council, Rahib Khan Baloch Advocate, has termed the severe shortage of petrol and diesel across Quetta and other parts of Balochistan as the height of government incompetence and mismanagement.

In a statement, he said that the province is currently facing an acute shortage of petroleum products, and in remote areas outside Quetta, petrol is reportedly being sold at rates as high as Rs800 per litre. He added that due to the crisis, fares of rickshaws, goods transport, and public transport have significantly increased, further burdening the common citizens.

He stated that long queues are being witnessed at fuel stations across the city, yet people are still unable to get petrol even after waiting for hours. He said the public has been left without any relief, while border closures have severely affected business activities and the livelihood of traders.

Rahib Khan Baloch further said that unemployment and poverty are rapidly increasing in the province, while corruption, lawlessness, and exploitation are at their peak. He alleged that the current government has completely failed to resolve public issues.

He urged the authorities to immediately take notice of the petrol and diesel shortage across Balochistan, including Quetta, and take urgent steps to resolve the crisis to provide relief to the people.
