Young Girl Injured in Stray Dog Attack in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area

KARACHI: A young girl was seriously injured after being attacked by stray dogs while playing in a street in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area, raising fresh concerns about the growing menace of stray animals in the city.
According to the victim’s father, the attack left the child with deep injuries to her face. She was immediately shifted for medical treatment following the incident.
Hospital officials reported that government hospitals in Karachi are receiving more than 150 stray dog bite cases on a daily basis. They said that the majority of these cases are being reported from Korangi, Landhi, and Hub Chowki areas.
Health authorities and hospital staff have expressed concern over the increasing number of dog-bite incidents, particularly among children, and stressed the need for effective measures to control the stray dog population.
According to sources, more than 40,000 dog-bite cases have been reported across Karachi so far this year, while at least 10 deaths have allegedly been linked to stray dog attacks and related complications.
The latest incident has renewed calls for local authorities to take urgent action to address the issue and ensure public safety, especially in densely populated residential neighborhoods where children are most vulnerable.
