ISLAMABAD: The government has set a target of creating 2 million jobs during the fiscal year 2026–27, according to official documents.

Authorities claim that around 1.8 million employment opportunities were generated during the current fiscal year, which ends on June 30.

According to the official planning document, the services sector is expected to contribute 1.1 million jobs in the upcoming fiscal year, while the industrial sector is projected to create 500,000 jobs and the agriculture sector 400,000 jobs.

The document states that the rising trend in employment generation is expected to support broad-based, inclusive, and job-oriented economic growth.
