Pishin Conference to Be Historic Gathering for Protection of Madaris and Rights of Balochistan, Says Maulana Abdul Waseh

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Ameer Maulana Abdul Waseh has said that the government has so far failed to extend serious cooperation regarding religious seminaries, and instead has allegedly attempted to create difficulties for madaris through various excuses and tactics.

He said that in such critical circumstances, the “Protection of Madaris and Rights of Balochistan Conference” scheduled for June 4 in Pishin has gained exceptional importance and will prove to be the largest public gathering in the history of JUI Balochistan.

He stated that workers, scholars, tribal elders, youth, and people from different schools of thought across Balochistan will travel in large caravans to Pishin, where a grand and historic welcome will be accorded to JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Maulana Abdul Waseh said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will deliver a comprehensive address covering the deteriorating law and order situation, issues faced by religious seminaries, increasing pressure on Islamic identity, political, economic and constitutional rights of the people of Balochistan, alleged violations of public mandate, the Mines and Minerals Bill, as well as national and international developments and challenges facing the Muslim world.

He further said that policies of deprivation of Balochistan’s resources, denial of basic rights, and political marginalization have created widespread unrest in the province. According to him, the Pishin conference will not only reflect public sentiment on these issues but will also mark an important milestone in the political history of Balochistan, with far-reaching impacts on provincial and national politics.

Meanwhile, meetings of various committees formed for conference arrangements reviewed administrative, organizational, security, reception, transport, media, and publicity matters in detail. The participants expressed satisfaction over preparations reported from different districts and reaffirmed that the June 4 gathering will represent a historic display of public strength, religious awareness, and the struggle for the rights of Balochistan.

JUI leadership at both provincial and central levels is currently engaged in an active campaign across the province, while corner meetings, workers’ conventions, and reception camps are also being organized in various districts.

Maulana Abdul Waseh visited the venue and reviewed arrangements, including participant facilities, parking, entry and exit points, and other logistics. Security plans were also discussed and finalized with various proposals under consideration.

Later, important consultations were held between JUI Central General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Maulana Abdul Waseh regarding the conference, during which multiple aspects were finalized to ensure a historic, organized, and effective gathering. The leaders expressed confidence that the Pishin conference will present a clear national narrative regarding the protection of madaris, defense of public rights, and the future of Balochistan.
