“We Are Not Obstructing Your War, So Why Interfere in Our Districts?” Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai Warns of Consequences for Interference in Pashtun Areas

Chaman: Tribal leader and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) figure Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai, while addressing a public gathering in Chaman organized under the party banner, said that if local people are not obstructing anyone’s conflict or war, then there should be no interference in the affairs of their districts.

He said that the people of Chaman and other border areas are already facing severe economic hardship, unemployment, and difficulties due to prolonged border closures. He added that such conditions have worsened due to interference by various groups in local matters.

Jogezai stated that the livelihoods of thousands of families in border districts depend on cross-border trade and movement. However, repeated closures of the border and ongoing tensions have caused significant damage to the local economy. He demanded that the issues of the local population be addressed on an urgent basis and that they should not be pushed further into hardship.

He reiterated that the people of the region believe in peace, stability, and mutual respect. “If we are not becoming a hurdle in your war or conflict, then you should also refrain from interfering in our areas,” he said.

Jogezai warned that any harm caused to Pashtun transporters or continued interference in Pashtun areas would have serious consequences. He stressed that such actions could further deepen grievances and instability in the region.

He further said that the people of Chaman and surrounding areas require lasting peace, better business opportunities, and free movement across the border to overcome the ongoing economic crisis and unrest.

The leader urged authorities and relevant stakeholders to resolve the issues of border communities with seriousness and ensure that their economic survival is not jeopardized.
