Actress Momina Iqbal Accused of Receiving Financial Benefits from PML-N MPA

Lahore: Allegations have emerged against actress Momina Iqbal claiming that she received financial and other benefits from a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), as the lawyer of the legislator announced that key evidence regarding their relationship will soon be made public.

Speaking to media after appearing before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on Thursday, the lawyer of PML-N MPA Saqib Chaddar, Mian Ali Ashfaq, stated that Muhammad Saqib and Momina Iqbal first met in 2021 and maintained a close relationship for a long period. He added that at one point, their relationship had progressed towards marriage but could not materialize.

He further alleged that it is unusual that the complainant allegedly benefited financially and otherwise from the accused for nearly five years without any formal relationship, while continuing mutual visits, and later filed an online harassment case.

The lawyer claimed that important evidence regarding their relationship will be presented in the coming days, which, according to him, will surprise the public.

He also said that law cannot be misused for blackmail or abuse allegations.

Meanwhile, according to a private TV report, Momina Iqbal’s legal team stated that the actress and the PML-N MPA had a relationship between 2022 and 2023, and that the MPA had expressed interest in marriage and even sent a formal proposal.

The report further alleged that the MPA was already married and allegedly intended to marry the actress as a third wife. It was stated that after learning about his existing marriages, Momina Iqbal ended the relationship on ethical grounds.

It was also claimed that tensions escalated when the actress’s marriage was arranged elsewhere, after which she was allegedly harassed. The lawyers stated that evidence of harassment, threats, and alleged misuse of political influence has been submitted to NCCIA officials.
