Cyber Harassment Case Involving MPA and Actress Momina Iqbal Escalates in Punjab

The dispute involving Punjab Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) and actress Momina Iqbal over alleged threats and cyber harassment has intensified as authorities have summoned all parties for today’s hearing.

According to reports, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has called in both sides following a formal complaint filed by the actress.

The MPA, meanwhile, has also registered a separate case in his home district through a cousin, naming unidentified individuals for alleged threats.

### Allegations by the actress

In her petition, Momina Iqbal alleged that she has been facing prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying, mental pressure, and death threats from a powerful political figure.

She further stated in an Instagram story that despite filing complaints multiple times with relevant authorities, including cybercrime agencies, the FIA, and Punjab Police, no effective action was taken due to alleged political influence.

The actress claimed she and her family are now under serious threat and demanded protection from authorities, urging Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and other officials to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation.

She also tagged various government offices, media outlets, and platforms in her posts to highlight her concerns.

### New developments

In another update, Momina Iqbal thanked authorities for taking notice of the matter and requested that no allegations or names be publicly attributed until she gives an official recorded statement.

She also claimed that she has received messages from other women alleging similar harassment by the same MPA, further escalating the sensitivity of the case.
