Islamabad High Court Grants Partial Relief to Dr. Fazeela Abbasi in Money Laundering Case

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has issued a significant ruling in the high-profile money laundering case against Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, granting partial relief by dismissing one case while ordering that investigations into other allegations continue.
Dr. Abbasi, who is also the sister of actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, is under scrutiny for allegedly conducting suspicious financial transactions amounting to Rs25 billion across 22 bank accounts. According to records presented before the court, the volume of transactions appears vastly disproportionate to her declared annual income, reported to be between Rs400,000 and Rs600,000.
The case involves serious allegations of money laundering, with investigators claiming that large sums of money were allegedly transferred abroad, including to the United States and the United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai.
In its ruling, the court stated that while one case was nullified on legal or technical grounds, the scale of financial discrepancies and suspected international transfers warranted continued investigation. Authorities have been directed to thoroughly examine all bank accounts and cross-border transactions to determine the legitimacy of the funds.
The decision marks a major development in the case, drawing public attention due to the magnitude of the alleged financial irregularities and the high-profile nature of the individuals involved.
