Islamabad High Court Issues Decision on Petition Seeking Family Meeting and Doctor Access for Bushra Bibi

Islamabad (Kudrat News) — The Islamabad High Court has issued a written judgment on a petition seeking permission for family ملاقات (meeting) and access to a personal physician for Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court delivered the written verdict and disposed of the petition with directions.
According to the court order, the matter of family meetings with Bushra Bibi has been referred back to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, instructing him to reconsider the request.
The court stated that if the Superintendent of Adiala Jail rejects the application, the petitioner may approach the Inspector General of Prisons as an available forum.
The judgment further noted that the jail authorities had already informed the court regarding the provision of daily necessities to Bushra Bibi inside the jail.
It added that according to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, medical treatment of Bushra Bibi is ongoing, and she has also been shifted outside the jail to a hospital when required.
The court observed that the medical condition of an under-trial prisoner falls under the executive domain, and any objection in this regard can be addressed through the relevant jail rules and legal forums.
The Islamabad High Court also directed that copies of the judgment be sent to the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail.
