Sindh Education Minister Takes Strict Notice of Alleged Torture of Student in Umerkot School

Karachi: Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has taken strict notice of the alleged torture of a student at a government school in Umerkot district.
The incident surfaced on social media, where reports claimed that a student at Government Tahir Shah School in the village of Sinhoi near Chail was subjected to physical abuse.
Following the reports, the Sindh education minister directed the District Education Officer (DEO) Umerkot to immediately conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed report.
Syed Sardar Ali Shah stated that there is no room for any form of physical punishment in schools. He said legal and departmental action would be taken in accordance with the law after a transparent investigation into the incident.
The minister further emphasized that corporal punishment is legally considered a crime in Sindh and that the law exists to ensure the protection and safety of students.
