Punjab pavilion becomes center of attention at World Urban Forum during CM Maryam Nawaz’s Azerbaijan visit

LAHORE: The Punjab Pavilion set up at the World Urban Forum during Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Azerbaijan attracted significant attention from international delegates, media representatives, and global participants.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the World Urban Forum in Baku, where she formally inaugurated the Punjab Pavilion and conducted a detailed tour of the exhibition.

The opening ceremony of the pavilion witnessed strong participation from international media outlets, while members of global delegations and forum participants also met with the Punjab chief minister.

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz briefed international participants on the success of Punjab’s affordable urban housing initiatives. Global media representatives reportedly described the Punjab government’s “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” housing program as a role model due to its pace and implementation.

A documentary showcasing the flagship housing project was also presented at the pavilion, highlighting evidence of homes constructed under the scheme and featuring reactions from beneficiaries.

According to officials, more than 100,000 houses have been completed under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program within just one year.

International delegates and media representatives attending the forum praised the housing initiative and commended Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision and public welfare measures.
