Rs264 Million Released for Bhong Interchange on Multan-Sukkur Motorway

Islamabad: National Highway Authority has confirmed the release of Rs264 million for the construction of the Bhong Interchange on the Multan-Sukkur Motorway, following directions linked to a Supreme Court decision.

The development came during a hearing in the High Court regarding a petition seeking implementation of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the construction of the Bhong Interchange.

During the proceedings, the Ministry of Communications informed the court that the federal government had released funds amounting to Rs264 million for the project. Counsel for the National Highway Authority (NHA) also confirmed the release of the funds.

The case was heard by Justice Muhammad Asif. Petitioner Rais Munir appeared before the court along with his counsel Waqar Rana, while legal representatives of the Ministry of Communications and the NHA were also present.

During the hearing, petitioner’s counsel requested the court to keep the matter pending, while the Ministry of Communications urged the court to dispose of the case after the release of funds.

The court directed that the case remain pending and adjourned further hearing until the last week of June.
