Crime Rate Rises Further in Karachi, 42 Citizens Killed and Over 1,600 Mobile Phones Snatched in April

Islamabad (Kudrat Daily) — The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has released details of criminal activities reported in Karachi during the month of April, showing an increase in street crime and robbery incidents across the city.
According to statistics issued by the CPLC, the number of mobile phone snatching cases increased significantly during April. A total of 1,624 incidents of mobile phone snatching were reported in April compared to 1,265 cases in March.
The report also showed a rise in motorcycle snatching incidents, with 469 motorcycles snatched in April compared to 440 in March. Similarly, car snatching incidents also increased from 17 cases in March to 22 cases in April.
However, incidents of motorcycle theft showed a decline, with 2,723 cases reported in April against 3,027 in March. Car theft cases also decreased from 140 in March to 111 in April.
According to the CPLC report, murder cases witnessed a slight decrease. A total of 42 people were killed in April compared to 44 in March.
The report further stated that one case of kidnapping for ransom and nine incidents of extortion were reported during the month.
