Punjab Considers Summer Holidays from May 22 to August 2 in Schools

LAHORE: The Punjab government is considering a proposal to announce summer vacations in educational institutions from May 22 to August 2, according to the provincial education minister.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said in a media interaction that the final decision regarding the summer vacation schedule will be taken on May 11, after which an official announcement will be made.
He stated that the education department is evaluating different options to protect students from the impact of extreme heat while also ensuring a balance in academic activities. Consultations with all stakeholders are currently underway.
The minister further said that the possibility of organizing summer camps during the vacation period is also under consideration. These camps aim to continue educational engagement and enhance students’ skills during the break.
Rana Sikandar Hayat added that the final decision will be made in the public interest and in view of weather conditions, ensuring convenience for both students and teachers.
